Who makes this

A merch studio built inside a cloth region

We started in Porto because the mills are here. Everything we sell is spun, knitted, dyed and made within 40 km of the studio, and we walk those floors ourselves.

Threads Supply began in 2019 with one blank and one dye house. The problem we set out to solve was small and specific: a company orders 200 hoodies, likes them, orders 200 more nine months later, and the second run comes back a different colour and half a size shorter.

The fix was not a better supplier. It was owning the parts that drift. We cut every blank to our own block, we hold the cloth in Porto, and we keep the dye recipe on file against your Pantone reference so the second lot is measured against the first rather than against a memory.

The region does the rest. Guimarães, Vila Nova de Famalicão and Barcelos sit inside a 40 km circle, which means a lab dip goes out in the morning and comes back the same day. That is the whole reason production runs in 14–21 days and a sample lands in 7.

How we work

Four things we do differently, each one the reason a reorder matches.

One valley, four processes

Spinning, knitting, dyeing and making all sit within 40 km of Porto. A lab dip travels 20 minutes, not 20 days.

We own the pattern

Every blank is cut to our own block. That is why a reorder in March matches the run you approved in October.

Dyed to the reference

Garment dyed to any of 2,625 Pantone references. Send a lab dip and we match it rather than talk you out of it.

Audited by us, not by a form

We walk every partner floor ourselves. GOTS and OEKO-TEX certificates sit on top of that, not instead of it.

The studio

Small enough that you speak to the person who books the run

Sixteen people in Porto and four in Berlin. Sampling, dye matching and production planning all sit in the same room as the people who answer your email.

Teams who reorder

The second run is the one that tells you whether a supplier is any good.

Quality, price, communication and design. They understand what we are looking for, and the second run matched the first exactly.

Marta Oliveira · Brand lead, Apollo Bagels

We onboard 40 people a month. The kits ship from Porto on a call-off, so nobody on my team is packing boxes any more.

Daniel Reiss · Head of people ops, Sennheiser

The dye match was the whole job. They hit PANTONE 5605 C on the first lab dip and held it across 3,200 pieces.
